Facility Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The Facility Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting machinery and equipment. The Facility Maintenance Technician will aid in the construction and maintenance of the facility and surrounding property by performing a variety of construction, and property maintenance tasks.

Reports to:

Facility Manager

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems and make necessary repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.

  • Understand equipment failure modes and develop appropriate maintenance plans.
  • Ensure that required parts are ordered, organized and stocked.
  • Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs and navigate construction job site terrain.
  • Fill potholes, mow the lawn and assist in loading and unloading shipments.
  • Perform setup and clean up tasks at job site to maintain sanitary conditions within office and production areas.
  • Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the facility while transporting or processing material.
  • Operate Safety Sensitive Equipment following lock out/ tag out procedures as trained and/or licensed.
  • All other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Maintenance: 2 years (required)
  • Manufacturing: 2 years (required)
  • Maintaining mechanical system: 1 year (required)
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Current forklift license is an asset, however training may be available.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Positive attitude with effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Operate Safety Sensitive Equipment as trained and/or licensed.
  • Work with little or no supervision.
  • Background check required.

Work Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Hazards associated with the trade.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting and bending.

$27.00 per hour

Location

  • In person and onsite in Wainfleet, Ontario (L0S 1V0)
  • Must be available to reliably commute to site or plan to relocate before starting work (Absolute requirement)
